YO! The amazing 
released a SUPER AWESOME blending brush for the smudge tool awhiles back. The only problem is in the newer versions of photoshop it does not work as intended 
... So Today i took unto myself to find a remedy for all us CS6 loving fools & i do believe i did! So naturally it's my present to the world (and to nebezial if he ever starts using a new photoshop ;D )
Above image is a showcase as to how both brushes work in CS6. This is in no way meant to bash on Nebezial! His brush is AMAZING but unfortunately does not work correctly in CS6. The new tip shape and slightly adjusted settings help to alleviate the artifacting present in newer versions of PS with the original brush and create a more seamless diffuse blending effect.
USAGE: I recommend this be used with the Smudge Tool & at about 20-50% opacity!

EDIT:: I've received complaints that the blending brush was far too laggy at higher resolutions. To combat this i've adjust a small setting or two and now the brush should work at much higher resolutions (Brush size works laglessly for me at over 2000px brush size...i did not test further than that) Thank you
